Train Crash Investigation in Antelope Valley

Antelope Valley, California – On the morning of February 11, 2025, at about 6:45 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a train on Bootlegger Canyon Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver was traveling west on Bootlegger Canyon Road at a speed of around 10 mph when he failed to stop at the railroad crossing. The driver reported that he didn’t see the train or its lights before crossing the tracks. The train struck the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

Fortunately, the driver only sustained minor injuries. Train services were temporarily halted but resumed at approximately 8:35 a.m.

The CHP reminds all drivers to be extra cautious near railroad crossings. Always obey the posted signs and look both ways before crossing the tracks.
