Woman and Dog Killed, Three Injured in Crash on 405 Freeway in Westwood
A tragic two-car collision on the northbound 405 Freeway in Westwood claimed the life of 72-year-old Margaret Jackson and her dog on Friday night. Jackson died from traumatic injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Medical Examiner’s office.
In addition to Jackson’s death, three others were injured in the accident. An 80-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man were critically injured, while a 60-year-old woman was hospitalized in fair condition, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The LAFD responded to the scene near the Wilshire Boulevard exit at 7:15 p.m. Friday. A second dog was also reported missing following the crash.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, and further details have not been released.
