Pursuit Ends with Arrest in the Desert

A police pursuit involving a stolen gray Honda Odyssey van has come to an end. The chase began at Avenue P-12 and Rambler, with the driver—described as a solo Hispanic female—attempting to evade authorities. Deputies pursued the vehicle as it sped through various streets and avenues, reaching speeds up to 80mph.

In a dramatic turn, the suspect attempted to ram a patrol car, which led to additional charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer. The suspect continued driving east on Avenue Q, then north on 10th Street East, and made several more turns, including traveling through dirt roads and the desert.

At one point, the suspect reached around the 100th Street East area, where deputies suspected she may have abandoned the vehicle. A containment operation was set up. Moments later, the suspect was found near the vehicle and taken into custody.
